The Higgs Symposium
Event description
The Higgs Symposium, organized by the Higgs Centre, and co-sponsored by the IPPP, will take place at the University of Edinburgh, 9-11 January 2013. The Symposium will consist of 12 plenary lectures, focused on the discovery of the Higgs boson and its impact on physics. The scientific programme is now available. Speakers include John Ellis, Mikhail Shaposhnikov, Nima Arkani-Hamed, Michael Atiyah, Subir Sachdev, Peter Higgs, Chris Llewellyn Smith, Howie Haber, Joe Incandela, Eilam Gross, Riccardo Rattazzi, David Kosower and Matt Strassler.
A poster is available here. The Symposium group photo is available here.
A £75 fee, to be paid upon registration, will cover coffee breaks, lunches on the three days (Wednesday through Friday) a reception on Wednesday evening and a conference dinner on the Thursday. The Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology (IPPP) provides funds to reimburse the £75 fee for UK-based students. We have some accommodation pre-booked for this event for the nights of January 8, 9 and 10. If you would like to use this accommodation, please indicate that in the registration procedure, and the secretary will get in touch with you via email. The Higgs Centre will cover the accommodation costs for a limited number of PhD students.
For any enquiry please contact the Higgs Centre Secretary, Lyndsey Miller: L.Miller [at] ed.ac.uk
