Biomedical Physics Higgs Centre Workshop
Event description
The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers doing interdisciplinary work between physics and medicine. Within the School of Physics and Astronomy, as well as within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, there are many people working on physics challenges for the medical domain and we would like to bring these people together to see where there may be more opportunity for collaboration and to coalesce some of the paths and ideas. There will be three main themes presented during the workshop, with presentations from SoPA and CMVM researchers:
- medical imaging
- molecular mechanisms of disease
- biophysics of viruses and biofilms
We aim to have plenty of time for discussion as a group and between attendees to identify and develop new ideas in the space. It is hoped that this workshop will give better visibility of medical and biomedical physics across the colleges in the University of Edinburgh, so that the extent of it is understood by all participating.
