Simba/Kiara Team Meeting 2026

We are pleased to announce the third not-so-annual Simba Team Meeting, to be held from June 10-12, 2026 at the Higgs Centre for Theoretical Physics on the Kings Buildings campus of the University of Edinburgh.

The Simba simulations and its various offshoots such as CAMELS-Simba, the GIZMO-Simba 300 clusters, and Simba-C have now been utilised for a wide range of applications, including studying the evolution of galaxies, groups, clusters, black holes, intergalactic gas, dust, large-scale structure, and cosmology. Simba remains popular now six years after its release owing to its novel input physics with often dramatic implications for objects and structures seen across cosmic time.

The Simba Team Meeting brings together all users and developers of Simba and related simulations to exchange scientific insights, techniques, and tools in a friendly and informal environment. Everyone attending will be able to give a presentation (if desired), with ample time for discussions and interactions. As a bonus, we hope to present a preview of results from the next generation of simulations in the Mufasa/Simba family: Kiara.

The meeting is generously hosted by the Higgs Centre for Theoretical Physics. There will be no registration fee, and coffee breaks and lunches will be provided for participants. We are planning to organise a conference dinner as well. Due to room restrictions attendance is limited to approximately 30 participants.
