Subtracting the Infrared Divergences in Collider Observables

Speakers:
  • Emese Ungar

Event description

The LHC will soon enter its high luminosity phase, increasing the need for more precise theoretical predictions of collider observables. A major bottleneck in the calculation of many observables is infrared divergences arising in the numerical integrations. In this talk I will introduce the problem of IR divergences in calculating observables and explain one approach to removing them: dipole subtraction.
