Event description
In this talk I will first discuss why it is impossible to get a de Sitter space in the absence of quantum corrections and temporal dependence of degrees of freedom. I will then point out why it is not feasible to realize de Sitter space as a vacuum solution in string theory. It seems the only possible way a 4d de Sitter space may exist in string theory, and outside the so-called swampland, is as a Glauber-Sudarshan state (i.e as a coherent state).
