Alumni Career Talk with Alison Goligher

Event description

Alison graduated from Edinburgh University with a BSc in Mathematical Physics, and a Master of Engineering degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot Watt University. She then held various operational positions with Schlumberger in the Far East, USA, Norway and France, and later several global, senior technology and managerial positions in the USA and Europe in Wireline Services, Oilfield Services and Integrated Project Management. She has also held positions with Royal Dutch Shell.

Alison holds an Honorary Degree (Doctor of Laws, LLD) from Dundee University and also holds an Honorary Degree (Doctor of Engineering) from Heriot Watt University in recognition of her commitment to the education of young professionals in the oil and gas industry, particularly young female engineers. She also sits on the Advisory Board for Edinburgh Business School at Heriot Watt University. Alison is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and in 2004 was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her services to the Oil and Gas Industry in the UK.
