Effective Lagrangian for the Higgs

Speaker:

Abstract

I will summarize the status of the Higgs boson after the first run of the LHC. The emphasis will be on interpreting the Higgs results as constraints on physics beyond the Standard Model. I will discuss a general effective Lagrangian that allows one to parametrize deviations of the Higgs couplings from the Standard Model predictions. Then I will present the up-to- date constraints on the parameters of the effective Lagrangian derived from the existing Higgs data and from electroweak precision tests. Finally, I will discuss the possibility of constraining new physics by searches of exotic Higgs decays.
