Cosmological Results from Planck 2013 and Beyond

Speaker:

Abstract

The European Space Agency's Planck satellite was launched on 14 May 2009, and has been surveying the sky stably and continuously since 13 August 2009. In March of 2013, ESA and the Planck Collaboration released to the public a first complete set data products. I will review some of the highlights of this release for cosmology and early Universe physics, and make contact with other large sky surveys currently underway. The combination of surveys allows us to see "cosmic sound" across 14 billion years of cosmic history and raises fundamental questions about the Universe in which we live.
